Customer required our service to design a CUSTOM TAG-SCAN hardware, to integrate in their own system, for the automatic detection of CLOSED BOX placed on vertical racks, in their clean room, without the need ‘to have to identify the location manually scanning a bar-code (rackmon)
Our Engineers completely redesign the actual hardware and firmware as well. Working closely with customer’s staff, laroccasolutions perform a reverse engineering of the old system to understand all communications messages.
Based on results we completely design a new circuit, and firmware, to interface with the OLD system.
Base on our experience we presented to the customer also some optimization of their system.
Project Description
An R-FID system consists of a transceiver (reader) and one or more transponders capable of communicating with each other through a modulated signal to radio frequency. In case of using a passive transponders (which does not require on board a battery for power supply), the energy needed for its operation is supplied from the transceiver which through its antenna generates a suitable magnetic field to RF.
The transponder picks up the RF antenna with your going to charge a small capacitor that is integrated.
When the voltage across the capacitor has exceeded a certain value, the transponder to the transceiver sends the data contained in its memory by modulating the RF signal.
laroccasolutions proposal is based on the LF HDX transponder type operating at frequencies of 134 kHz.
Thanks to a multiplexing system and amplifiers it allows to read up to 40 antennas, placed at maximum distance of 10 meters from the single reader.
Any status change, at each location, a message is sent to a special server to update the batch tracking system.
Customer system is fully compatible with messages sent to the Central Server in order to achieve an immediate PLUG&PLAY solution.

Further Customisations
Thanks to the versatility with which the product has been designed, you can integrate the functionality according to customer needs.
- Ability to integrate into the case where a graphic display to view the status of reading the tag, allowing you to use the device as a portable tester can verify the proper functioning of the ducts installed on racks in Clean Room.
- Ability to operate with Wi-Fi battery power for use on the move (e.g. Forklift)
- Ability to connect a simple PC Monitor: implementing the apparatus with a video output is possible (in preparation and assembly of the Rack) display screen the proper functioning of the ducts before they are installed in Clean Room
- Ability to customize the actions to take following a read / removing a tag
